Munay transforms lives through education, surfing, and collaborative work with the communities of El Sunzal, building confidence, skills, and lasting opportunities together.
Tourism is transforming La Libertad into one of Central America's most exciting destinations. By equipping local communities with practical skills, language training, and professional development opportunities, we can help create a workforce ready to grow alongside the region's success. Together, we can build a tourism industry that is welcoming, competitive, and driven by local talent.
Building opportunities through education, sport, and community development.
Munay brings together education, sport, and collaborative work with communities to strengthen local talent and support sustainable development along the coast of El Salvador.
Our work builds on the region's greatest asset, its people. By providing access to practical training, English education, professional development, and recreational programs, we help individuals develop the skills and confidence needed to participate in the growing tourism and local economy. Working alongside communities, schools, public institutions, and private partners, we create opportunities that encourage lifelong learning, entrepreneurship, and active community participation.
"We believe that every child, young person, and family should have access to the knowledge, opportunities, and supportive environment needed to reach their full potential, while contributing to the future of their community." — The Munay team
Every Sunday, and every project we build, is a chance for young people to grow the skills and spaces they need to remain and thrive in the place they call home.
Surfing is more than a sport. Combined with English classes and academic support, it becomes a powerful tool for confidence, discipline, and future educational and employment opportunities.
We promote participatory bioconstruction processes that train young people and adults in sustainable building techniques while creating functional spaces that improve daily life. Each project becomes a practical school.
Over the past few years we've worked directly with children, young people and families on the coast, building relationships of trust that today allow us to transform these initiatives into projects with lasting impact.
Our team combines expertise in tourism, surf instruction, law, project management, and bioconstruction, bringing together practical experience and a shared vision for community development. Working in partnership with local communities, we design programs that promote education, skill development, and opportunities for children and young people, while supporting the sustainable growth of El Salvador's coastline.

Confidence isn't built in the ocean alone. It's built at a plastic table with borrowed markers, on a Sunday afternoon, when a kid holds up something they made and finally believes they can.
Money, time, gear, expertise, whatever you can give is transformed into opportunities for girls, boys, and adolescents in El Sunzal.
